Drawing inspiration from Ancient Egyptian mythology, UK duo Church of Best Ever created this stunning mural in Brick Lane celebrating the strength and beauty of femininity in Islam.
Hathor, the Egyptian goddess revered as a symbol of feminine strength, joy, and motherhood, served as the inspiration for this powerful homage to the strength and invaluable contribution of women in the Muslim community. "Brick Lane sits at the heart of one of the largest Muslim communities in the UK, and as we've matured as artists, making public art that relates to it's surroundings has become increasingly more important" the pair said. "Our aim was to challenge misconceptions about the treatment of women in Muslim culture and celebrate the integral role they play."
The artwork showcases a portrait skillfully crafted in the duo's signature blend of spray paint photorealism, abstraction, and iconography creating a deeply engaging piece that seamlessly integrates into the rich cultural tapestry of the area.
